Seamless Multi-Site Office & Network Infrastructure Migration
Migrating an entire corporate site requires balancing physical logistics with strict operational continuity. This project cantered on relocating complete network infrastructure—firewalls, switches, wireless access points, and peripheral systems—to a new facility while guaranteeing zero impact on core business hours.
The Challenge
The primary objective was to decommission, physically move, and reconfigure the business’s entire IT ecosystem over a single weekend. The migration encompassed core routing and switching, next-generation firewalls, Wi-Fi infrastructure, boardroom AV, print servers, VoIP telephony, and dozens of user workstations.
Key operational risks included ISP circuit delays, data loss, extended downtime, and post-move productivity drops if endpoint equipment failed on Monday morning.
Strategy & Preparation
ISP & Circuit Synchronization: Coordinated with Internet Service Providers months in advance to ensure fiber lines, public IP allocations, and secondary failover circuits were active and tested at the new site before physical hardware was touched.
Stakeholder & Vendor Alignment: Drafted a detailed migration timeline mapping out exact downtime windows, responsibilities, and on-site staffing schedules. Ensured department leads, external vendors, and facilities management were fully aligned on cutover times.
Asset & Port Mapping: Audited the existing site to document every patch panel connection, switch port assignment, VLAN layout, and static IP allocation prior to disassembly.
Pre-Go-Live Testing & Quality Assurance
Before end-users stepped foot in the new office, a comprehensive testing matrix was executed to validate every operational system:
Network & Security: Verified internet throughput, firewall rules, guest Wi-Fi coverage, and internal subnet routing.
Peripherals & AV: Brought network printers, VoIP phone systems, and boardroom conference tech online, testing call clarity and screen-share capabilities.
Workstations & Endpoints: Booted and verified wired/wireless connectivity on desktop PCs, laptops, and docking stations across every desk cluster.
Documentation & Governance (The Core Pillar)
